Head of Procurement

Cure Talent is thrilled to partner with a global leader in medical technology, specialising in advanced surgical instruments and minimal invasive procedures. With a focus on innovation and improving patient outcomes, this company delivers high quality solutions that set the standard in healthcare.

They are now seeking to appoint a Head of Procurement to lead and shape the UK procurement function, based at their Slough site. Reporting directly to the Finance Director for Europe, this hands on yet strategic position is ideal for an experienced procurement professional ready to step into a Head of role, with responsibility for governance, supplier strategy, risk management and end to end procure to pay oversight.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and lead the end-to-end procurement strategy, policies and governance framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory standards
• Oversee the full procure to pay cycle, driving process optimisation, cost effectiveness, and SAP based procurement system improvements
• Lead supplier sourcing, tendering and contract negotiations, securing favourable commercial terms while managing risk and supply continuity
• Build and manage strong supplier relationships, monitoring performance through KPIs and ensuring compliance with quality, ethical and sustainability standards
• Conduct spend analysis, forecasting and performance reporting, presenting insights to senior leadership and supporting strategic decision making

We’re looking for a Head of Procurement with:

• Extensive procurement experience within medical, manufacturing, engineering, FMCG, technology or another regulated environment
• Strong experience across both direct and indirect procurement, including end to end procure to pay ownership
• Proven contract negotiation, supplier management and commercial influencing skills at senior stakeholder level
• Experience implementing or optimising procurement systems, ERP or e procurement tools, ideally within an SAP environment
• A degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field, with CIPS qualification preferred
